FailSafe Advocates New Uses of Technology to FCC to Simplify Disaster Reporting
On April 23, 2024, FailSafe Communications presented a fresh perspective on proposed DIRS reporting rules governing cable, wireline, wireless, and interconnected VoIP providers to the Federal Communications Commission. In summary, these comments were intended to:
- Explain how Intelligent Signaling Networks can automate outage information for DIRS.
- Illustrate how these networks can alert 911 providers and the FCC of situations needing investigation.
- Show how this equipment and process can gauge the scope of carrier outages and pinpoint 911 caller information.
- Provide a live demonstration using phone numbers from Washington D.C. and Hawaii to generate real-time email alerts.
