FailSafe Advocates New Uses of Technology to FCC to Simplify Disaster Reporting

On April 23, 2024, FailSafe Communications presented a fresh perspective on proposed DIRS reporting rules governing cable, wireline, wireless, and interconnected VoIP providers to the Federal Communications Commission. In summary, these comments were intended to:

  1. Explain how Intelligent Signaling Networks can automate outage information for DIRS.
  2. Illustrate how these networks can alert 911 providers and the FCC of situations needing investigation.
  3. Show how this equipment and process can gauge the scope of carrier outages and pinpoint 911 caller information.
  4. Provide a live demonstration using phone numbers from Washington D.C. and Hawaii to generate real-time email alerts.
